Vitamin B1 (Thiamine)
Vitamin B1 is a water soluble vitamin that participates in the protein, carbohydrate and fat metabolism, in the production of energy. Essential for converting carbohydrates into energy. B complex vitamins are needed for healthy skin, hair, eyes, and liver and have a soothing effect on the nervous system been called anti- stress vitamins. A deficiency of vitamin B1 leads to the development of Beri Beri , a nervous system deficiency.
Sources of Vitamin B1 (Thiamine): tuna, sun flower seeds, beans peas, lentil, yeast, nuts, breads, wheat germ, oranges, fresh peas, enriched pastas, breads and cereals.
Daily Recommendations: approx. 2 mg
