Vitamin B2 ( Riboflavin )
Vitamin B2 is a water soluble vitamin. This particular vitamin is destroyed at high temperature and prolonged exposure to light, so foods containing this vitamin have to be sheltered from light, in order to maintain their proprieties. Riboflavin is used in order to prevent low levels of riboflavin, increasing energy levels, boosting the immune system, maintaining healthy skin and hair.
Sources: yogurts, soy, mushrooms, spinach, tempeth, milk, almonds, eggs, fortified breads and cereals, broccoli, asparagus, cheese, fish and poultry.
Vitamin B2 Recommendations:
Approximately 2mg
Infant birth- 6 months: 0.3 mg
Infants 7-12 months: 0.4 mg
Children 1-3 y: 0.5 mg
Children 4-8 y: 0.6 mg
Children 9-13 y: 0.9 mg
Boys 14- 18 y: 1.3 mg
