Let’s talk about cleaning your refrigerator and pantry. If you are usually tempted to eat high calorie foods, then is time to stop buying them for a while. If I have cookies and cakes sitting in my house, I will eat every crumb! And I can’t blame it on the husband, the kids or the dog, because I usually buy all the food in my house. Everything that goes in your mouth counts so let’s be more mindful. I believe in the quote that says “out of site out of mind” and to help you with temptations it is best to get them away, at least until you learn to have a little self control. Because I can’t be at your house physically to clean up your fridge or pantry, I am making you in charge of either hiding or getting rid of your temptation foods. Here are a few tips for cleaning your refrigerator and pantry 🙂
Be honest – Use your inner voice and common sense. You know what foods provide temptation so is time to get rid of them. You may want to send them to your husbands office or give them to charity. I got a bag sitting by my door filled with cookies and high calorie snacks that will serve another family better – the bag s going to a homeless shelter today.
Compromise – if you think you can look at the nutrition label, learned about the size of one portion, and be able to stop eating after one portion, then you may keep that food for a treat.
Donate or throw away – Give yourself permission to donate or throw away any unwanted food. There is another quote that says “better to go to waste than to my waist.” I usually think about that one when I want to eat the leftovers.
Tomorrow we will talk about tips for shopping smart so you can stock your refrigerator and pantry with plenty of nutrition 🙂
Have a great day cleaning!
