Operation Shrink Your Body – Day 44: Tips for Trimming your Favorite Desserts

IMG_1333Want to trim the calories of your favorite desserts? Well, here are some quick tips just in time for valentines 🙂

  • Satisfy your sweet tooth by switching condensed milk for fat-free condensed milk
  • Use egg substitute or egg whites instead of whole eggs
  • Boost the flavor of your favorite desserts by adding more cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, vanilla, almond or your favorite spice
  • Try using low fat evaporated milk instead of heavy cream
  • Top your favorites with dark chocolate shavings
  • Use skim, 2% milk or evaporated fat free milk instead of whole milk.
  • Omit or go easy on the salt as most recipes make this ingredient optional
  • Prepare your favorite coffee or hot chocolate with low fat milk and go easy on the sugar
  • Add more flavor with fruits so bring on the tropical fruits:  coconut, mango, pineapple, passion fruit, etc. are packed with essential vitamins and minerals
  • Go ahead and enjoy your favorite desserts and beverages. You don’t have to cut them out of your diet entirely, just practice moderation and self control 🙂
