 Asparagus

The asparagus vegetable very  low in calories, 100 g fresh spears are only 20 calories.  The asparagus spears are good source of anti-oxidants, carotenes, and folate. Asparagus spears are also rich in B-complex vitamins that have a well known effect on the health of the heart, and the prevention of other diseases.

Broccoli

Broccoli is a member of the  cruciferous family. This vegetable is very low in calories, but rich in dietary fiber, minerals, vitamins and antioxidants. this fresh vegetable is house to a number of  phyto-nutrients. Studies have shown that phyto-nutrients help protect from some types of cancer like breast, prostate and pancreatic cancer.

Spinach

Spinach stores many phyto-nutrients in their green leafs that have important health promoting properties. This vegetable is very low in calories, but high in dietary fiber; fresh 100 g of spinach contains about 25% of daily intake of iron. Spinach leaves are high in vitamin A, vitaminC, and important antioxidants.  Spinach consumption is highly recommended in lowering cholesterol and weight management.
